From April 15 to 16, 2023, teachers from the School of Media and Communication of our University went to Tianjin and Chongqing to attend two national professional academic conferences. Associate Professor Ma Qing and young teacher Dr. Jia Mengmeng were invited to attend the "10th Youth Forum on Journalism History and Annual Meeting of Peking University Journalism Research Society" held in Tianjin Normal University and give a paper report; Dr. Cheng Cheng, a young teacher, was invited to participate in the 5th "China Image · Global Communication" organized by Sichuan International Studies University, and gave an academic report at the "China Image Global Communication Summit Forum".
The 10th Youth Forum on the History of Journalism and the Annual Meeting of the Journalism Research Association of Peking University is co-sponsored by the Journalism Research Association of Peking University and the School of Journalism and Communication of Tianjin Normal University. This conference focused on the important theoretical achievements of the Party's 20th National Congress report, and launched an academic discussion on the theme of "The practical context and theoretical enlightenment of China's journalism in the perspective of Chinese modernization". In the sub-forum of "News Communication Research from the Perspective of Social Change", Teacher Ma Qing and Teacher Jia Mengmeng reported their papers respectively under the title of "Taxi Merchant Interaction and Fashion Communication in Ming Dynasty" and "Historical Investigation and Discourse Analysis of Modern" Mother of Public Opinion ".
During the meeting, Associate Professor Ma Qing proposed to Professor Cheng Manli, president of the Peking University Journalism Research Association, and Teacher Li Jieqiong, secretariat, to apply for the right to host the 2025 annual meeting.
On April 16, the fifth "China Image · Global Communication" Forum was held in Chongqing. The forum was co-sponsored by the Special Committee on International Communication of Film and Television of Chinese University Film and Television Association and Sichuan International Studies University, and hosted by the School of Journalism and Communication of Sichuan International Studies University (International School of Film and Television Industry) and Chongqing Shapingba District Culture and Tourism Development Committee. With the theme of "Cross-cultural Communication and Cross-media re-engineering", the forum discussed how to cope with the challenges and historical opportunities of film and television international communication, and further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation of universities in the field of international communication.
More than 100 scholars and industry experts from Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai International Studies University, Beijing Film Academy, Shanghai Theatre Academy, Communication University of China and other institutions discussed related topics. Cheng Cheng, a teacher from the School of Media and Communication of our College, gave an academic report on the topic of "Gaze, Transplant, Communication: China's Image Construction and Cultural Writing under the Hollywood Order".
